The one real difference
Strip away the marketing and Fortune Coins 2 has exactly one new mechanic: Toss Fortune Coins. Coins that land without forming a win no longer evaporate. They bank into a gold or silver pile above the reels, and at random intervals that pile empties back onto the grid.
It sounds cosmetic. It is not. In the original, a near-miss was a dead spin. In the sequel, every near-miss adds ammunition to a mechanic that will eventually fire and can force a Lock & Respin trigger that would never have occurred. It changes the texture of a losing streak.
