How a jackpot is actually won
Jackpot Coins appear on reels 1 and 3 only. They look like the ordinary silver and gold coins but carry a jackpot label instead of a multiplier value. There is no qualifying bet, no bonus wheel, and no pick-a-box round. If a Jackpot Coin lands and its value gets collected, you are paid.
Collection happens two ways. In the base game, the gold Bonus Coin on reel 2 sweeps up every coin value visible on screen, jackpots included. Inside Lock & Respin, the sticky Bonus Coin does the same job continuously as new coins land.
Grand jackpot = 1,000x. Maximum win = 10,000x. These are different quantities. The Grand is a single symbol value. The 10,000x cap is what an exceptional respin round can accumulate in total — several jackpot coins, a fully-loaded collector, and multipliers stacked on top.
Unused jackpot coins do not disappear
This is the sequel's most under-reported detail. When a Jackpot Coin lands but is not collected — no Bonus Coin on reel 2, no Lock & Respin active — it does not simply vanish. It flies into the silver pile above the reels.
That pile is the ammunition for the Toss Fortune Coins mechanic. When the toss fires, the accumulated coins rain back onto the grid. A jackpot coin that missed twenty spins ago can land in an empty position and complete a trigger. It is an elegant way of converting near-misses into deferred value, and it is entirely absent from the original Fortune Coins.
Jackpot frequency: what we can and cannot say
TaDa does not publish per-tier hit rates, and any site that quotes them precisely is guessing. What the published data supports:
- The bonus round arrives roughly once per 167 spins.
- Jackpot Coins can appear during ordinary spins, not only in the bonus.
- Mini and Minor land frequently enough that most extended sessions will see one.
- Major (100x) is uncommon. Grand (1,000x) is a genuinely rare event.
- Higher stakes do not improve jackpot odds — the multipliers are fixed, so a bigger bet only scales the payout.
Do the jackpots justify the RTP drop?
Fortune Coins 2 gave up 67 basis points of base RTP relative to the original. In exchange, the ceiling tripled and the jackpot ladder gained the silver-pile recycling mechanic. For a player who plays a hundred spins a week, the RTP loss is what they will feel; the ceiling is theoretical.
